Water and Respiration

During respiration, electrons are removed during degradation of a food material. These electrons are used to produce ATP when they move through the electron transport chain. The end result is that when the electrons combine with oxygen and hydrogen, water is formed. This water is added to the pool of water already in use by the organism.
