In one study, 52% of cheetahs were solitary. Thirty-one percent of cheetahs live in groups of two, while 14 percent lived in groups of 3, and 3 percent of cheetahs lived in groups 4 individuals.
Solitary cheetahs kill a prey animal once every 2 to 3 days. They are not very successful hunters. On the average, their success rate is 1 kill per 5 tries.
